Closing night of a play I tried hard to like, because I like Marivaux, but was put off by it because of in-your-face invasion of the audience by some of the “Islanders,” local drag queens whose performances were completely over the top and in some ways quite enjoyable. (I’m writing two weeks later, and many of the details have gone out of my head.)
