13 August 2005: Stoppard, On the Razzle

Matinee. Williamstown Festival Theatre (a new theatre, just opened this season). Directed by David Jones.

Wretched seats at the top of the balcony, with a partly obstructed view — all we could get after a last-minute decision to drive up and see this production (Williamstown is about one and a half hours from Easthampton). A splendid, lighthearted piece with a big cast and, in this production, sumptuous scenery. Fast-paced and very enjoyable.
